Finca Cortesin Golf Resort
Costa del Sol’s Ultimate Luxury Escape
Finca Cortesin has a reputation as one of Spain’s finest golf and lifestyle resorts, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear why. Tucked away in the Andalusian hills with views of the Mediterranean, it combines understated luxury, championship golf, Michelin-level dining, and a serene spa. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and appreciate every detail.
Arrival & First Impressions
The entrance feels private and secluded—you drive through olive groves and manicured gardens before arriving at the whitewashed Andalusian-style resort. The atmosphere is calm and exclusive without feeling pretentious. The welcome was warm yet discreet, setting the tone for the entire stay.
Rooms
We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was incredibly spacious with high ceilings, soft neutral tones, and a private terrace overlooking the gardens. The bathroom was a highlight—marble finishes, a deep soaking tub, and a huge rain shower. Every detail, from the linens to the lighting, felt thoughtfully curated.
Golf
The Finca Cortesin Golf Course (18 holes, par 72) is a true championship layout and host of the Solheim Cup.
-
It’s a Cabell B. Robinson design with wide fairways, but strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens that make it a serious test.
-
The views are breathtaking, with the Mediterranean on one side and the mountains on the other.
-
The conditioning is immaculate—some of the best we’ve seen in Spain.
-
The practice facilities are equally impressive: a double-ended driving range, dedicated short-game area, and a team of PGA professionals offering lessons. The clubhouse matches the quality of the course—elegant, spacious, and perfect for post-round dining.
If you want more variety, the Golf Concierge can also arrange rounds at nearby courses like Valderrama or La Reserva, but honestly, Finca Cortesin itself is enough to keep you busy.
Spa & Wellness
The Finca Cortesin Spa is a haven of calm. It has a thermal circuit with a heated indoor pool, saunas, steam bath, and relaxation areas bathed in natural light. We tried their signature Thai-inspired massage, which was one of the best spa treatments we’ve experienced.
There’s also a well-equipped fitness centre, yoga and Pilates sessions, and even a snow cave—a unique contrast therapy experience for post-golf recovery.
Dining
Dining at Finca Cortesin is exceptional and a huge part of the experience.
-
REI by Finca Cortesin offers Japanese-Mediterranean fusion with a Michelin touch.
-
El Jardín de Lutz serves Andalusian cuisine on a beautiful terrace overlooking the gardens.
-
Don Giovanni focuses on authentic Italian dishes.
-
The Beach Club offers fresh seafood right on the Mediterranean shoreline.
Breakfast was an experience in itself—à la carte dishes with fresh local produce served in a serene setting.
The Overall Stay
Finca Cortesin is more than just a resort—it feels like a private sanctuary. The golf is world-class, the spa is one of the most tranquil we’ve experienced, and the dining rivals top restaurants anywhere in Spain. Everything is done with quiet sophistication, making it ideal for a special golf getaway or a luxury retreat.
For a Costa del Sol escape that combines championship golf, Michelin-level dining, and pure relaxation, Finca Cortesin is unbeatable.
