Just outside Girona and less than an hour from Barcelona, it’s perfect for a golf escape that also feels like a wellness getaway.

Arrival & First Impressions

The approach to the resort is beautiful—rolling hills, Mediterranean pine trees, and glimpses of the golf courses as you drive in. The hotel itself is contemporary and elegant, with clean lines, open spaces, and plenty of natural light. From the moment we checked in, the service felt effortless—friendly but very professional.

Rooms

​

We stayed in a Deluxe Room, which had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the resort and golf course. The décor is minimalist but warm, with neutral tones, soft textures, and a spacious marble bathroom with a rain shower. For a bit more indulgence, the Junior Suites add separate lounge areas and larger terraces with panoramic views.

Golf

If you’re a golfer, this is a bucket-list destination. PGA Catalunya Golf Resort has two spectacular courses:

• Stadium Course (18 holes, par 72) is one of the top-ranked courses in Europe and has hosted multiple European Tour events. It’s a challenging layout with tree-lined fairways, dramatic bunkering, and water hazards that demand precision.

• Tour Course (18 holes, par 72) is slightly more forgiving but still beautifully designed, with wide fairways and scenic views—ideal for a more relaxed round.

The practice facilities are some of the best we’ve seen, with a double-ended driving range, short-game areas, and a dedicated PGA Academy offering lessons and club fittings. The clubhouse is stylish and has a great terrace overlooking the 18th green of the Stadium Course—perfect for a post-round drink.

Spa & Wellness

​

The Wellness Centre at Hotel Camiral is modern and designed for recovery and relaxation. It features a thermal circuit with hydrotherapy pools, saunas, steam rooms, and contrast showers. We tried a deep tissue massage specifically tailored for golfers, and it was excellent.

​

There’s also a gym with Technogym equipment, yoga and Pilates sessions, and even guided nature walks and cycling routes if you want something outdoors.

Dining

Dining here blends local Catalan flavours with modern international touches.

• 1477 Restaurant is the main fine dining venue, focusing on seasonal produce from the surrounding region.

• Bella’s is more casual, offering Italian-inspired dishes in a relaxed setting.

• The Lounge Bar is ideal for cocktails, light bites, or a coffee with a view of the pool and golf course.

Breakfast was a highlight—freshly baked breads and pastries, local cheeses and charcuterie, plus made-to-order hot dishes.
