Why Choose Spain for Your Golf & Spa Holiday

Spain is Europe's most popular golf and spa destination for good reason. The courses are exceptional — from the tree-lined layouts of Andalucía to the volcanic terrain of the Canary Islands — and the resorts that surround them have kept pace. Full-service destination spas, hydrotherapy pools, hammam facilities and expert therapists are standard at the properties we work with. These aren't hotels with a course attached; they're complete resort experiences built around both the game and the recovery.

The Costa del Sol averages more than 300 days of sunshine a year. The Canaries are warm year-round. Mallorca offers a more refined, less crowded alternative. Whatever the balance you're looking for — more rounds, more spa time, or an equal split — Spain makes it easy, and we'll plan the itinerary around what suits you.

Where to Go in Spain

Costa del Sol & Andalucía — La Finca Resort, Finca Cortesín and Precise Resort El Rompido represent the best of resort golf and spa in southern Spain. Championship layouts sit alongside full-service spas, Michelin-starred dining and some of Europe's most storied fairways — a morning on the course followed by an afternoon of treatments and a long dinner is the rhythm most guests settle into.

Canary Islands — Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura offer year-round warmth, excellent courses through volcanic terrain and resort facilities designed for guests who want more than just golf. Salobre Hotel's spa and health club and the Sheraton Fuerteventura's beachside setting make these two of our most popular winter sun properties.

Mallorca — The Westin Castillo Hotel Son Vida sits above Palma with a full spa and access to some of the island's finest courses. More understated than the Costa, with beautiful mountain and sea views, outstanding local cuisine and a quieter pace that suits those who want to genuinely unwind alongside their golf.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time for golf in Spain?
March to May and September to November are the sweet spots on the mainland — warm but not oppressively hot. The Canary Islands are excellent year-round, with temperatures rarely below 18°C even in January, making them ideal for winter golf.
What handicap do I need to play in Spain?
There's no universal requirement, though some courses — particularly Finca Cortesín — do require a handicap certificate. We'll advise on what applies to your chosen resort when you enquire.
Is Spain suitable for beginner golfers?
Yes. Many of our Spanish resorts have on-site academies with certified professionals. If you'd like to improve, we can build coaching time into your itinerary alongside resort play.
Can non-golfers enjoy these resorts?
Absolutely. All of our Spanish resorts have full spa facilities, pools, dining and excursion options. Many of our guests travel as couples or groups where only some play golf — while one is on the course, the other has a full day of spa treatments, pool time and resort facilities. It works seamlessly.
How long should a golf holiday in Spain be?
Three to seven nights is the most popular range. A three-night break gives you two full rounds; five to seven nights lets you explore multiple courses, settle into the resort properly and actually feel like you've had a holiday.
