Why Choose Turkey for Your Golf & Spa Holiday

The Belek golf region is Europe's best-kept secret for serious golfers who also want a proper resort experience. Around a dozen championship courses sit within a 20km stretch of the Turquoise Coast, many built to European Tour standards and regularly used for professional events. The pine forest and Mediterranean coastline setting is distinctive — quite different from the manicured resort look of Spanish or Portuguese golf — and the quality of course maintenance is consistently high.

Turkey's resort hotels have invested heavily in spa and wellness facilities in recent years, and the properties in Belek now rank among the best spa resorts in the Mediterranean. Large thermal pools, comprehensive treatment menus, hammam experiences and sports recovery facilities are standard at the properties we work with. The all-inclusive model — which Turkey does better than almost anywhere else — removes the guesswork from budgeting and lets you focus entirely on the holiday itself.

The Belek Golf Coast

Belek sits on Turkey's Antalya coast, backed by the Taurus Mountains and fronted by the Mediterranean. The golf courses here range from parkland layouts through mature pine forest to links-influenced designs closer to the coast — a greater variety within a small area than most European golf regions can offer. The Antalya region also has outstanding cultural sightseeing: the ancient Roman ruins at Perge and Aspendos, the old city of Antalya with its harbour and Ottoman quarter, and the extraordinary landscape of Cappadocia for those who want to extend the trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time for golf in Turkey?
April to June and September to November are the best months for golf in Belek — warm and sunny without the intense heat of July and August when midday temperatures regularly exceed 35°C. Spring and autumn conditions are excellent: courses are in great shape, the sea is warm enough to swim in, and the resorts are less crowded than the summer peak. October in particular offers some of the best golf weather in the Mediterranean.
What is the Belek golf region?
Belek, on Turkey's Turquoise Coast in the Antalya region, is one of Europe's most concentrated golf destinations — around a dozen championship courses within a 20km stretch, set between pine forests and the Mediterranean Sea. Many courses were designed by European Tour standards and host professional events. The combination of well-maintained courses, reliable sunshine and very competitive pricing makes Belek a serious contender alongside Spain and Portugal for a European golf and spa break.
Is Turkey suitable for non-golfers?
Turkey's resort hotels are built on the all-inclusive model, and Belek properties rank among the best all-inclusive resorts in Europe — extensive facilities, excellent food, large spa and wellness centres, multiple pools and entertainment. Non-golfers have a full resort holiday without needing to engage with the golf at all. Turkey also offers exceptional cultural sightseeing: Ephesus, the ancient city of Perge, the old city of Antalya and the unique landscape of Cappadocia are all reachable on day trips.
How long is the flight from the UK?
Approximately 4 hours from the UK to Antalya Airport, which is the gateway to the Belek golf region. Direct flights operate year-round from most major UK airports with TUI, easyJet and Turkish Airlines. Belek is around 40km from the airport — transfers take approximately 45 minutes.
How does Turkey compare for value?
Turkey represents exceptional value relative to other European golf destinations. All-inclusive packages typically include unlimited food and drink, meaning the total holiday cost is very predictable. Green fees are competitive by European standards, and the resorts themselves are often significantly larger and better equipped than comparable Spanish or Portuguese properties at the same price point. The Turkish lira's weakness against sterling has made the destination increasingly attractive in recent years.
